CDNs just a little while ago seemed like such a complicated topic that only large fortune 500 companies could use. Today they are better understood and more affordable for small businesses.
I was lucky enough to be contacted by MaxCDN who was willing to sponsor my website. I was thrilled as they mentioned they sponsor many well known blogs such as Web Designer Depot, and Mashable. Anytime I get mentioned with those blogs it is a nice compliment.
I suggest heading over there and seeing what they can do for you!

Looking back at what we started to do, we discussed the making of a web site through the following avenues: 1) completion of a web site business and marketing form that allows you to analyze the ins and outs of your site; from design and look and feel, to functionality, to marketing; 2) how to create a web site from scratch with Photoshop, laying out positioning and placements of call-to-actions; 3) how to slice and convert images into CSS for HTML uploads; 4) how to conduct, develop, and implement search engine optimization techniques, tactics, and marketing verbiage in your site. Now let’s take a look at the final step: creating a robust online marketing and search marketing infrastructure to your site.

Hello again! Continuing the series on How To Create a Web Site, today’s tutorial is about search engine optimization and content development. We’ll discuss how to research keywords, where to implement them in the code of your site, how and where to position them, and create a basic foundation for an online marketing infrastructure (for this tutorial, we’re mainly focusing on SEO and SEM as part of that online marketing structure).
Let’s start with checking our keywords in Google’s keyword tool guide. Since we already know that Crea+ive Communications is a company based in San Diego, California, it is then easy to create a rough draft of certain keywords that I would like to use for this research. All I am doing is creating a list of initial keywords as starting point, so that we can see which keywords will work and which won’t be used.
In doing so, below is list of keywords that we can start to use in Google to see what kind of results we can generate.

Today I woke up just to go through my daily routine. What is this you might ask?
Now you may be wondering why you must know what my routine is… I bring it up mostly because of that last point. Facebook and Twitter have become HUGE, with a large audience checking them many, many times a day.
If I may ask are we too dependent on these networks?
This question has been mulling over in my mind today with the recent news of Twitter suffering a denial-of-service attack this morning. Check out the following article:
Facebook Down. Twitter Down. Social Media Meltdown. – http://mashable.com/2009/08/06/facebook-down-3/
It was a stream of events that made each Social Media go down and leave us frustrated that we can’t access our favorite site that we spend so much time on every day.
First of all, a hacker attacks Twitter and makes its servers so slow it becomes unusable. Then the frustrated twitter users make their way over to Facebook to get their social fix, but the spike in traffic causes Facebook to go down. You can now see the chain of events that can cause havoc across the interwebs.
The Michael Jackson death just showed how quickly news spreads across Twitter, and when things like this go down the whole internet feels the sting!
How do you use social networks? Do you think you depend on them too much? How do you handle it when you can’t access your favorite social network? Please comment below…

Google released on its official blog the other day that it now has provided webmasters with a way to avoid duplicated content issues. They now will allow you to tell them which version of the content you want them to accept. A quick note that should be mentioned here is that Yahoo and Live have implemented this as well.
Now you might be wondering where this would actually benefit yourselves from an SEO standpoint. The following is a simple example:
index.php?color=blue
index.php?color=red
With the above 2 urls all we are changing is the color scheme of the website using the php $_GET variables. The problem comes because both of the above urls will have the same title tag, and content. To Google this is a great example of duplicate content.
Now using this handy new option from Google; we could simply add the following to the head of our HTML document to avoid the duplicate content:
<link rel="canonical" href="index.php" />
Now Google will know that index.php is the file with the content, and will not penalize you for any duplicate content.
This theory is relatively new, and thus it will be changing frequently as people try and get the upper hand. Some people are even suggesting that the tag may eventually become as useless as the meta keyword tag currently is.
Personally I still think avoiding duplicate content without using this tag is preferable, but if you have no choice take a look at it.
