Giveaways Galore as Brenelz.com is Re-Launched!

Reading time: 2 – 2 minutes

As you can see I have completely re-designed the look of my website.  It has been a process that has taken a long time, but we feel that we got it right.

Look for a post later on in the week that outlines the process we took for the redesign.

On another note, I am sure there are still bugs out there and would be happy if you would contact me through the form should you see any.

Giveaways!

Brenelz Web Solutions has a pile of stuff to give away to our loyal readers that have stuck with us the past year and a half. You can win the following:

  1. Free 3-month membership to TutsPlus
  2. 3 “PHP for Absolute Beginners” Books from Jason Lengstorf
  3. 3 eBooks of your choice from Packt

How do I win?

Well since this re-design has a heavy connection to Twitter, it only makes sense that we make this somewhat of a “Twitaway”. Love that phrase!

Here are the steps:

  1. Follow me on Twitter
  2. Tweet the following:
RT @brenelz Win a @tutsplus membership, and web dev books with #BrenelzRelaunched! http://bit.ly/252Vv8
  3. Subscribe to my RSS Feed
  4. Comment below with a suggested topic you would like to see featured on my blog.

The winners will be picked at the end of the week. Good Luck to all!

As I’m often dealing with situations in which I must refrain from overusing AJAX, but can use it to improve user experience, I think that you should address the topic of mixing traditional PHP apps with AJAX.

Also, I’ve also considered the PHP GD library to be one of the most fascinating libraries available to PHP devs. Oftentimes, it eliminates the need for manual image manipulation and, in a number of cases, can provide an automated solution that can improve user-initiated image interactions. In other words… do more GD in PHP!

Ps, I think surely it’s enough to ask people to retweet your twitter username rather than force them to follow you on twitter! and then ask them to subscribe to your feed as well? Surely just being a fan of the site and retweeting the username is fair enough.
