Networking

As I have started my own business, I have found out the great help that networking gives. If you start your business knowing no one related to the industry you are asking for some trouble. Things may work out fine for you but it maybe take a lot of time to find enough work to keep you busy full-time

I have found myself very fortunate to know many people in the web industry that have real world experience and help me learn along the way.

I took a year off school to work with a web design firm to work with some great people that I still have contact with. If I would have gone straight to university before this I would be worse off than I currently am.

So I say, don’t feel like you need to go straight to university. Take some time and make sure you want to go in a certain direction, and in the meantime get to know people in the industry.
