Top 5 Reasons Big Bang Theory Viewers Will Love Chuck!

I have put together the top 5 reasons why I think Big Bang Theory viewers will be more than impressed with Chuck if only they would give it a chance. Chuck just can’t seem to get traction in the ratings and now that Big Bang Theory will be in a different slot I think we need to appeal to this audience,

Reason #1: Nerd Humor / References

This is probably the most obvious link between the two shows. They both contain a great deal of Nerd Humor.

Both shows characters are heavily into video games. Big Bang Theory love Halo, Wii Bowling, and Rock band to name a few. Chuck on the other hand loves a good game of Modern Warcraft, or Call of Duty with Morgan.

Here are a few nerdy quotes from each:

Big Bang Theory

Sheldon: Everyone at the university knows I eat breakfast at 8:00 and move my bowels at 8:20.
Leonard: Yes, how did we live before Twitter?

Penny: Sheldon, what do you want?
Sheldon: I’m certain this will come as no surprise to you, but Leonard is failing in yet another relationship.
Penny: He’s having problems with Stephanie?
Sheldon: She’s sending virtual livestock to random men on the Internet

Chuck

Don’t have the exact quote but something along the lines of:

Get to know her? You mean adding her as a friend of facebook and writing on her wall right?

References

Both TV Series heavily reference past nerdy shows and movies.

For example:

Big Bang Theory

Big Bang Theory references BSG (Battle Star Galactica) many times.

Sheldon makes toast using a Cylon Toaster, and Wolowitz has a fantasy in the tub with Katee Sackhoff who plays Starbuck in BSG.

They also have numerous Star Trek references as well just about anything else nerdy

Chuck

Chuck keeps a Tron poster in his room, as well a quantum leap reference in the first guest appearance for Scott Bakula.
